A Heart Bent on God

"He has shown you, O man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and walk humbly with your God?". Micah 6:8

There is a question which believers must ask daily..."What would Christ have me do?" The answer to that question will provide us with an action, a word, a motive, or a priority which reflects the will of God.

The apostle Paul taught that in Christ all things hold together. In Acts 18, Paul, talking to the Athenians, quoted a Greek poet. He recited a line that he believed spoke about Christ. It said, "In Him we live and move and have our being."

So what does Christ ask of us today? What would our Lord have us do? What is the will of God for each of us? The way to begin, or continue, this journey and this questioning is by having a heart bent on God...a heart that desires to seek out that which pleases Him. In many respects we do not need to waste God's time in asking, for we have His word already. God speaks to us through His Holy Bible. Therefore, we know what we must do to be considered faithful in His holy name.

Now, we know full well that He wants us to love one another. However, we may find that a challenge at certain times in our lives. There is no question, though, that He has commandments that we are to obey. He is faithful to us...we must be faithful to Him!

Gracious God, we wish that on this day we are clay in the Potter's hands. As the prophet of old said, "Here I am, use me." May that be our prayer to You this day, Holy Lord. In Jesus' name we pray.  Amen.

Blessings...Pastor Gary
